The First Day of Hajj (8th of Dhul-Hijjah)

The First Day

The first day of Hajj, Yawm at-Tarwiyah, is when pilgrims drink plenty of water in preparation. It is recommended to perform ghusl, groom oneself, and wear Ihram attire—men in izar and rida', women in modest clothing (no niqab or gloves). A pilgrim performing Tamattu‘ enters Ihram for Hajj with "Labbayk Hajjan" and may add a conditional statement: "If I am prevented, my exit is where I am held back." Pilgrims should avoid prohibited acts of Ihram and frequently recite the Talbiyah: "Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk..."

On this day, pilgrims go to Mina to perform Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha, and Fajr prayers, with the four-unit prayers shortened to two units. They spend the night in Mina, following the Sunnah, and do not leave for Arafat until after Fajr, except in cases of necessity.

Acts of the Day of Arafah: The Second Day of Hajj (9th of Dhul-Hijjah):

The Second Day

After Fajr and sunrise, the pilgrim heads to Arafah, reciting Talbiyah and Takbeer. It is recommended to stop at Namirah until noon, then enter Arafah for Dhuhr and Asr, shortened and combined. The pilgrim engages in supplication, with the best being: "There is no god but Allah alone..." It is Sunnah not to fast on this day.

At sunset, the pilgrim moves calmly to Muzdalifah, prays Maghrib and Isha combined, then spends the night there. After Fajr at its earliest time, they prepare to complete the Hajj rituals.

The Third Day

The Third Day of Hajj (10th of Dhul-Hijjah):

After Fajr in Muzdalifah, the pilgrim supplicates at Al-Mash'ar Al-Haram until light appears, then heads to Mina, quickening pace at Wadi Muhassir. They collect seven pebbles and throw them at Jamarat al-Aqaba with Takbeer, ending the Talbiyah.

The pilgrim sacrifices the Hadi, shaves or shortens the hair for the first Tahallul, then performs Tawaf al-Ifadah and Sa'i. With the second Tahallul, all Ihram restrictions lift. The pilgrim drinks Zamzam, prays, and returns to Mina for the night.

Acts of the First Day of Tashreeq (11th of Dhul-Hijjah):

The Fourth Day

The Fourth Day of Hajj (11th of Dhul-Hijjah):

The pilgrim spends the night in Mina, preferably praying in Masjid al-Khaif and increasing the takbeer. After Zawal, the pilgrim throws seven pebbles at each of the three Jamarat, starting with the small one, followed by supplications. At Jamarat al-Aqbah, the pilgrim throws seven pebbles without supplications afterward. The pilgrim stays in Mina for the night of the 12th, and those excused can combine the stoning for both days or perform it at night.

The fifth day:

The fifth day of Hajj (the 12th of Dhul-Hijjah):

After spending the night in Mina, the pilgrim takes advantage of the time by doing good deeds, remembering Allah, being kind to others, and advising one another to do good. After Dhuhr, the three Jamarat are thrown just as on the 11th day, with standing for prayer after throwing the small and middle Jamarat. If someone wishes to hasten their departure, it is permissible, and they must leave before sunset. Then, they should head to the Haram Mosque in Mecca to perform the Tawaf of Farewell.

The actions of the third day of Tashreeq :

The sixth day

The sixth day of Hajj (13th of Dhul-Hijjah):

It is for those who delayed. After spending the night, they perform the same actions as the previous two days: they throw the stones and make supplications after throwing the small and middle Jamarat. After that, they head to Mecca to perform the Tawaf al-Wada (Farewell Tawaf) before traveling. With this, the rites of Hajj are complete.
